At about 6.20pm on radio 4 news, they announced that senior govenment officials and the army now accept the lancets figure of 655000 civillian deaths in iraq. this was broadcast as other news, and i can't find it on the bbc news website. i guess it's not surprising, but i was taken aback by the fact it was mentioned in the first place
