One of my most favoured games ever, even though its so old, I still went out and bought a copy last year and played it again and again. If I had the time, I would make my own versions and sequels and prequels... with heroes such as Alex Jones in it.
If people are not too sure what I am talking about, check the link below, from which I have quoted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex#Real_world_parallels Quote: | Real world parallels
Conspiracies are one of the main themes of Deus Ex, and the game draws heavily upon a number of popular real world conspiracies for many of its plot elements. These include speculations regarding black helicopters, Area 51, Men in Black, cow mutilations, and other purported extraterrestrial related activity. Mysterious groups such as Majestic 12, the Illuminati, the Knights Templar, and even the Bilderberg Group and the Trilateral Commission also all either play a central part in the plot, or are alluded to during the course of the game.
During sections of the game where the New York skyline is visible in the background, the two towers of the World Trade Center are noticeably missing; the real towers were destroyed a year after the game was released. Harvey Smith has explained that due to texture memory limitations, the portion of the skyline with the twin towers exists in the game's data files but had to be left out of the final game, with the other half mirrored in place of it. According to Smith, during the game's development, the developers justified the lack of the towers by stating that terrorists had destroyed the World Trade Center earlier in the game's storyline. | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex#Real_world_parallels |

I have both. Illuminati isn't actually that great but as Zabooka sais, Deus Ex is just about the most awesome game ever made and the quantity and quality of conspiratorial know how of its writers is worthy of some kind of certificate. _________________ "Thought is faster than arrows, and truth is sharper than blades." - David Gemmell | RealityDown wiki |

I wasnt paying attention to Deus Ex much back then but I shall dust off my copy and take a fresh look. I had noted it was your avatar.
The Illuminati card game I had heard of, but it really is stunning in its predictions. Was Steve Jackson illuminati all along or just a seriously clued up researcher? _________________ The Peoples United Collective TPUC.ORG

I have Illuminati too. There used to be a lengthy thread on it but I don't seem to be able to find it. Probably got trashed in the spring clean. |

I don't know much about the Illuminati Card game, though I have glossed over the link. Deus Ex, Invisible Wars... that really annoyed me, because it seemed to have sold out to the story, I felt that, after 9/11, a game like Deus Ex had to change, it had to be killed off somehow. How to do that? Create such a rubbish sequel that had none of the magic of the original game.
Was there an "Invisible War" being fought out in the development team of Deus Ex:Invisible Wars? Who knows. |

Not to mention the other parallels, like doing missions for UNATCO (United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition), then later changing sides when you discover the truth, chimeara experiments\secret weapons in MJ12 labs, martial law takeovers of cities, the "black death" engineered bio-attacks by the establishment across the world to cull population.... _________________ "All we need is the right major crisis, and the nations will accept the New World Order." - David Rockefeller |

Deus Ex is a masterpiece of a game and is easily one of my favourite games of all time and I still play it every now and again.
I always remember the time I sneaked into the secret MJ12 base in Hong Kong and whilst looking for the top secret Dragons Tooth sword I discovered an old tramp locked in a holding cell. I set him free and left him and then searched out and quietly found the sword and made it back to the point where I had entered the complex when all of a sudden the alarm went off and seconds later the old tramp came running down the corridor with about four Men in black chasing after him. It was hilarious and they all ignored me as they ran past. The feeling of immersion in this game was outstanding and that along with atmosphere is what I look for.
The sequel was a total disappointment though and failed to build on the original in every way. There were a few good moments in it but the game seemed to take a step backwards for me compared to Deus Ex which was so far ahead of its time. A lot of Deus EX is relevant to what is going on today. |

Yes, it is the most immersive game I have ever played, the gameplay, the plot and story, the characters, the settings, everything was so beautiful. |
