Shame it is a Canadian news show rather than a US one but when the tide turns in America it will surely quickly become a flood.

Hard faced Ann Coulter looked like she was starting to crumble under her own lies.

I noticed this:

The Neo-Con story has been told a fair few times in the not so mainstreaam media but nobody ever really questions America's system of so-called democracy.

I wouldn't hold up the British model as a paragon but at least cabinet members are (with the exception of the occasional Lord) products of the (albeit flawed) electroral system.

Not one member of the U/S. government has been voted for by the U.S. public. Even the President is not elected by the public - though most people believe he is - the validity of the last two presidential elections aside.

The election of the president is by an asymetric electoral college - the undemocratic nature of which is beyond belief.

Briefly, it works like this.

Each state is nominated a number of electoral votes, proportional to its size. Say a state has 40 electoral votes and 49% vote Democrat and 51% vote Republican - ALL 40 votes are then nominally Republican!

Incidentally, I am not under any illusion about the two-party system. That is just another layer of the illusion of 'democracy' or 'demockery'.
