I think some moderators are a bit to keen on censorship.

Ps. Tony... I have been suprisingly Pm'ed by many members of this forum, noting their particular concerns about your moderation. (Motive does not even come into it!)

Firstly please bring your concerns regarding Tony's moderation to the attention of other moderators by PM rather than starting endless threads stating the same thing.

I am aware that some users have been unhappy by Tony's practice of editting content and I understand these concerns. My understanding is that any editting should now only occur with the prior consent of the user involved.

The moderation team will discuss this and respond hopefully clarifying the role of the moderators, although as JHR says we needs specifics in order to respond. Please PM me with this.

If an apology is called for we will issue it. I'm happy to involve you (and others if they wish) in these discussions (which will be by email) although these discussions will need to focus on the issues and avoid emotive language such as Himmler.

In the meantime please restrain from starting further threads on this.

I will now lock this thread.

Well Ian. I brought a complaint to you after being insulted by another poster.

I was censored by Tony for refering to a Nasty Sivlerstein Security Thug, who was harrasing peaceful 9/11 demonstrators and threatening them. Tony not only contacted me and rebuked me. He change what I had written before he asked me. Then he accused me of using "The sort of abusive language ".

Not only did you fail to reply to my complaint. But Utopiated has not been rebuked on this matter either. I think it displays appallingly bad taste to censor any thread, especially one that show a flawed moderator, to quote you Ian "I will now lock this thread". Keeping any moderators short-falls from the community, tantamounts to the same kind of censorship of wrong doing we as a community fight against. I would not have gone as far has to call a moderator "Himmler". But you can see Bongo's point. You have no right within the realm of freedom of speech to censor what we say. Even if it is to discuss the errors of a moderator. We do not want our forums to become the moderators own little "Police States". I will post this on the open fourm. I would like a response to this message.
