Further to the mention here of certain information disappearing from Google searches & the related news of Google retaining copies of your search histories, I am pleased to pass on the following links which I came across on RI, which I have found useful for researching info.

Also there is http://clusty.com/ which has better results than Google and doesn't track you.

I have found that search results using these two search engines yield more results and pick up useful commentary from blogs/personal web pages, which Google (being a commercial enterprise & receiving income from resulting hits received on its 'sponsors' webpages) doesn't tend to do.
