Virgin Atlantic contradicts itself

Dear All,
As some of you remember I posted a taped telephone call I made speaking to Paul Charles who is Corporate Communications Director at Virgin Head Office where he denied they were ever showing Loose Change.

Today, separately I recieved this email response from V.Atlantic customer relations.

We appreciate your support in our decision to show Loose Change 2 on our flights.

We have since made the decision not to screen the documentary. Virgin
Atlantic is known for showing the latest movies and media trends, without
censorship, as we believe that travellers have the right to choose from as
wide a programme as possible. However as there was a danger with this
movie, that viewers may be offended, although they have the choice not toview it, we have decided to remove it from the in flight Entertainment menu

We appreciate you taking the time to get in touch with us and we thank you
again for your support.

Interesting, I wonder why they guy from Virgin PR (whose name I got from the radio show website that got it pulled) denied they were ever showing it?

It was on the in-flight entertainment web page. I have posted a couple of messages. I did mention that, in my opinion, LC2E isn't the best documentary and recommended "Press for truth" instead.

An in flight movie about hijacking and plane crashes? Wow, that'll keep em calm and in their seats! Those who believe in OCT will start throwing stuff at any arabic looking passengers and those who dont believe it will start punching anyone with a Langley accent.

I dont suppose theres a chance it was pulled on grounds of appropriateness? Like someone with a touch of common sense realised it would be like screening Munich in the Athletes village at the next olympics?

actually, you might be missing a trick here - you should find out who put it on the list in the first place, its not exactly well known outside these circles, someone at Virgin likes you.....
