I have just heard on Radio 4 some of Tony Blair's departure speech delivered just an hour ago in Sedgefield. I swear his writers have taken the lyrics of "My Way" and padded them out. Unbelievable twaddle!!!!

I've had to avoid the news all today; after seeing a fawning 'retrospective' (set to music) this morning that cast his war crimes as some kind of nostalgic 'difficult periods', I feared I may end up doing some costly damage to various items of electronic equipment by feeling compelled to throw them out of the window. It's on a par with watching soft focus footage of Hitler's 'finest moments' set to 'Candle in the Wind'.
