Pope condemns globalisation
Pope Benedict XVI has condemned globalisation and Marxism for many of Latin America's problems on the final day of his trip to Brazil.
He called on the region's bishops to mould a new generation of political leaders to reverse Catholicism's declining influence.
Benedict also criticised Latin America's wide gap between rich and poor, warned that legalised contraception and abortion threatens "the future of the peoples" and said the region's historical Catholic identity was at risk.
Before boarding a plane for Rome, he criticised both unfettered capitalism and the Marxist influences that have motivated some grassroots Catholic activists in Latin America, remnants of the liberation theology movement he moved to crush when he was a cardinal.
"The Marxist system, where it found its way into government, not only left a sad heritage of economic and ecological destruction, but also a painful destruction of the human spirit," he said in his opening address at a two-week bishops' conference in Brazil aimed at re-energising the church in Latin America.
Benedict also warned of the effects of globalisation, blamed by many in Latin America for a deep divide between the rich and poor.
The Pope said it could give "rise to a worrying degradation of personal dignity through drugs, alcohol and deceptive illusions of happiness".
He did not name any countries in his criticism of capitalism and Marxism, but Latin America has become deeply divided in recent years amid a political tilt to the left -- with the election of leftist leaders in Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua and the re-election of President Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Centre-left leaders govern in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
In remarks that could prove controversial on the final day of his five-day trip, Benedict said Latin American Indians had been "silently longing" to become Christians when Spanish and Portuguese conquerors took over their native lands centuries ago, although many Indians were enslaved and killed.
"In effect, the proclamation of Jesus and of his Gospel did not at any point involve an alienation of the pre-Columbus cultures, nor was it the imposition of a foreign culture," he said.

What a deluded, arrogant, pompous mother-f****r this fascist excuse for a pope, Benny Dicked, is proving to be. To claim that the indigineous peoples of Central & South America had been 'secretly longing' to become Christians, is proof alone that the Catholic Church is devoid of humanity and remains a continued threat to global harmony.

As for Benny Dicked denying that the Spanish invasion was the imposition of a foreign culture, what can one say? Un-fricking-believable!

Benny's predecessor (John-Paul II) made a similar comment when visiting south America; stating that the slaughter of indigineous peoples was a small price to pay for introducing the word of Christ to the new world. Un-fricking-believable!

The hegemony of the catholic church makes the US gameplan seem tame by comparison ... but still the masses fall for blatant lies and dis-information in their desire to believe that the papacy and it's homosexual peadophile priests provide the direct link to the divine.

Pope Leo X (1475 - 1521)

The Roman Catholic Church is fully aware of the shaky foundations upon which its dogma is formulated. Each year the world comes to a standstill as the devout celebrate the birth, death and resurrection of a mythical entity of bequeathed to the world by the iniquitous Nicene Council of 325AD.

In the 12th Centuryt St. Malachy forecast the end of the Roman Church after a further 112 popes. Benny Dicked is number 111.

The Roman Church and its Jesuit stormtroopers, along with their Zionist puppets, are destined for a very rude awakening! The days of the Enlilian Mafia are well and truly numbered.

Sounds more like the pope was having a dig at Hugo Chavez.
So in reality he is in favour of US dominance and control over Latin America's people and resources.
Chavez is probably the worlds best leader in terms of doing good things.
I am not a leftie but i fully support Hugo wholeheartedly

perhaps thats what cannabilistic gorging does to his mind? he gorges himself on the body of his imagined god in some maccabre symbolic cannibalism act.

what sort of religious freaks would devoure the body of christ every week to pay homage?

Do what the church says and reach heaven, hmmm, where have i heard that before.

Popey condems the gap between rich and poor, its simialr to a laurel and hardy sketch, no doubt he will give back all donations given to him by the poor? you have to laugh at this massive con dont you.

It must be time for another image of christ to appear on a carrot or turnip to stop the surge of desertions this evil cult is witnessing?
