The Metropolitan Police in England have won a court battle to allow them to ban London's Critical Mass cycle ride.

Two out of three Appeal Court judges overturned a High Court ruling that the rides do not need to have prior permission from the police.

With that news in mind I wonder if they have a bumper turn out?

A brief report on the Manchester ride.

We set off from the Central Library at 6:30 with around 50+ people. There was no police presence except for a van which joined us half way through and followed for about a mile. There was a little bit of agro with one car driver, but he eventually apologised. A lot of pedestrians cheered and waved, but were probably left wondering wtf was all that about. There didn’t appear to be any particular aim, but I think for most people it was a fun, social ride before arriving at a pub.
