Anyone see this, it's refered to in "The War On Truth" as the way to get
the American public to favour the US inclusion against Germany in WW1.
The premise is as follows; Britain want the US as an ally in the war against Germany,Churchill as minister for war collaborates with US to get them into the war by allowing the Lusitania to sail with Americans on board with the full knowledge that attack subs are in the area.
Lusitania sinks with over 1000* souls lost, including a few hundred americans.
There is an enquiry(get the gist) and the captain is found incompetant, thus is the scapegoat for the lack of cover by the Admiralty.
US joins in the war a couple of years later. In Churchills memoirs he recounts "the loss of the babies in the Lusitania's sinking as far more valuable than thousands of servicemen killed in battle, to get America into the war."
If I remember correctly ( I lent the book out), this episode has already been divulged from official papers of the time.
Just goes to show what the elitest scumbags will turn to eh!
*Book not to hand
TG you can move this if it's in the wrong place etc. |

Yes, I watched this tonight, and the whole attitude of the Admiralty and government spoke volumes. Even in those distant days, they were still prepared to let innocent people die to enable them to further their own ends! _________________ regards, gericom |

Too right gericom.
Our "leaders" in the "free" and "civilised" world, tell us our "enemies" regard life as cheap.
Those same elitist scum manouvre their own people into tradgedy for
geo-political gain.
Our "enemies" do regard life as cheap don't they! |

I also watched this last night, and when it finished, turned to my wife and asked "Does this sound familiar?"
Found this information, if you don't want to read it all, scroll down to the bit about the enquiry:
http://www.lostliners.com/Liners/Cunard/Lusitania/aftermath.html
The one major difference between then and now is.... the Internet, leveling the playing field as it were, with the ability, albeit one which will take a long time, of raising and circulating awareness and truth.
The real perpetrators of 911 would have nothing to fear but for the Internet and I do believe they will be brought to justice one day, even though it may take years. Crimes last for a person's lifetime. |

I have just read the whole of that article concerning the Lusitainia, and it does indeed make for sad reading.
I abhored the way in which Captain Turner was "set up" to take the blame, when in fact, the poor man was blameless. But then, as we all know, those in power need scapegoats to cover their own evil ways. They way the Admiralty lied about the number of torpedoes that actually hit the liner, for example.
One torpedo would not have sunk such a huge ship, especcially the type of torpedo used at that time.
Therefore, it stands to reason that there must have been an internal explosion that made the ship sink in just eighteen minuets.
But, then, human lives are cheap, aren't they? Then as now, what does it matter if a few hundred/thousand innocent people have to be sacrificed on the Altar of Power? _________________ regards, gericom |
