Truth Gathering

The next London Truth Gathering will be on Wednesday the 30th May7pm at the Counting House pub on Cornhill near Bank Station.

Last month we tried to start with a new concept for separating the chatting/networking/brainstorming side of the meetings with the reporting and action planning sides.

The reason for this was that we would often not get very far in the action planning and reporting side of the meeting for all the wonderful (if distracting) tangents which would come up. This element of a meeting should not be controlled in a formal structure anyway; it only limits scope and ultimately frustrates.

By laying down a line of what can be discussed in the planning side we should glide through it and leave maximum time for the rest, which is far better suited to a free flowing and structure-less gathering in the pub afterwards.

So we wanted to separate the planning meeting into a "meeting within a meeting" during a social event which was intended for free for all discussion, debate, socialising, chewing the cud over new ideas and networking.

It didn't quite work, so I feel this time I should be a bit more explicit:

* The Gathering starts at 7.00, come grab a drink, catch up with your fellow campaigners or introduce yourself if you're new, relax after work.

* The Planning Meeting starts at 8.00 and runs through to 9.00 - 9.30 depending on how focused we are. Before and after, it's a free for all, but during the meeting part it will be structured, if you're not up for this, have a drink in the main bar and come and join us afterwards.

* Then from 9 onwards (hopefully), back to the Gathering where we can socialise, brainstorm, network all we like!

So, sorry for letting the inner-drill sergeant out of his box there, it really is for the best as we’re at a pivotal point in the London group where there is a momentum building we can’t let slip.

I look forward to seeing all the usual suspects there on Wednesday, and let’s hope a few new faces as well!
