My CPU barely responds to page commands on this site. it does everything else pretty damn quick.

It's slower when more people are here but there's a few things we could do to make it faster, which I will do when I redesign it.

Without proper access to the cpanel I can't tell what kind of hosting package the site uses, it might well be time to move up to a better package.

Meg from the London group might be able to advise us if this is really needed.

well, its php so its probably got an mysql back end. It's probably just groaning under the weight of "CNN is run by Aliens Joo Lizards" posts from the controvesies section.
