Hello,
I've only just recently found this group as I've been researching the issue for myself for several months now. I think this group has a lot of potential and I hope I can chip in.
--I've got a few plans stewing at the moment, but here are 3 initial ideas. Hopefully people can chip in and say what they think--
1)) I've been trying to think about ways to get this issue discussed and I now think that we need to target groups, so that once the thought is seeded, they will encourage their members to get educated on the subject.
I think it is particularly important to make people understand exactly how relevant to their lives this issue is. For instance, we need to encourage the Muslim groups to look into it, after all, they have been scapegoated and are being punished the most.
Also, I was thinking that Firemen could be a good source of open ears. I've been thinking about preparing a short (20min) presentation, specifically directed at the members of our fire service. Let them hear the radio conversations coming from the point of impact. Let them hear their American counterparts saying 'there are two small fires, we can knock it down with two rows'. Remind them just how many firefighters were killed as they so bravely ran into the building to extinguish the already dying fires. Provide them with info but in a way that allows them to use their own knowledge and experience to engage them.
I have a lot more to say about the fire service idea but that gives at least the gist of the plan. Although targeting one particular group requires a slightly specific approach to be written / planned, I think it could be a winner in terms of minimal time output for maximum results. By this I mean that once we have a few fire crews discussing it, researching it, participating in the movement, then they will tell other colleagues, friends etc.
Because there is so much to say 9-11 (before, during and after) I've found it hard to decide what area to cover first when explaining it to people. This selective, slanted approach aimed at specific audiences would help focus this initial impact, the initial emotions that are felt. If the first thing people think is, 'stupid conspiracy nuts', then we have to get over an even bigger hurdle of ego. If the first thing someone thinks is, 'how terrible, these people were murdered and they deserve justice, that could have been me...', then we're getting to the good in people, the humanity - this can be very disarming and then extremely energizing.
Just as the initial images caused us such pain, the same empathy will now work to our advantage. People are involved in their own lives, their own study, their own careers etc, they are generally quite reluctant to look into something that undermines the importance / relevance of their lives. With this approach, we don't hit them with a wall of 'you know nothing about this, we know lots, listen up because it's really important..blabla' - Instead we're linking this issue into their interests, their jobs, their lives.
For instance,
Muslim Groups: Now, we don't need to explain to them the significance of 9-11, but we do need to explain how the Muslim world has been deionized to create the Straussien evil figure, needed with a lack of Cold War.
Fire service: As mentioned above, linking in to the firefighters that died, our audiences knowledge of large fires / fire service terminology etc.
Human Rights Groups: Explain how the Gitmo and the other US gulags around the world are justified by the threat of Al-911. Get them interested in reviewing their stance on 9-11 / global terror / the US and UK governments.
Civil Rights Groups: Get the anti-ID card, CCTV, legal rights groups etc. Explain how the justification for the widespread legal changes (both here and abroad) is 9-11, which we can show to be very shaky ground for such a loss of rights.
Arms Trade Campaigns: Get these groups to acknowledge that the US government had the capacity to carry out such an event. Get them to use their knowledge and experience when discussing the evidence. Engage them in the reasons for these wars, rather than just the actions taken once battle commences.
Environmental Groups: In my opinion many green groups would be grateful of such information, as they are currently failing to tame Bush and Blair. If we get them to seriously question the validity of our leaders, then they may join us, partly after being woken up, but also because they need these guys removed asap.
There are loads of types of organizations that we could attempt to reach; teachers, transport workers, fire /police, ngos, religious groups, community groups etc, all with their own, slightly modified approach.
2)) I was thinking that we need to drive the idea that it is just a matter of time before this story breaks surface. Explain the huge numbers of people demanding a proper inquiry, and explain that we simply have no choice, we can't go back after this, we can't forget that they did this. If people begin to believe in an inevitable moment of embarrassment (the initial feeling of being taken for a mug) then I think people will cover their cover asses, by getting involved / reading up.
I suppose what I'm saying is, if you believe something is up, don't sit on it. Don't let people turn off and label you a nut. It's not a matter of being rude anymore, we've got to drop a few of the Ps & Qs until this thing gets sorted. I for one am getting sick and tired of the same uneducated/ FOX-educated responses, bighting my lip so as to get the issue across best. But this issue is bigger than 'I hate fox hunting and you love it, and I want to bring you around to my way of thinking' – this is real politics and lives are being lost everyday, based on the mother of all lies.
3)) The other thing I was thinking about was a regular protest. I'm sure you guys have thought of this but I couldn't find any plans on the forum. Possibly once a week, outside parliament / canary wharf, at least 4 people, flyers, DVDs, a couple of signs. If we're their long enough a lot of people would be able to get some info, go home and watch it as well as discussing stuff with us. If anyone has any plans for such a thing, please let me know and I'll give you a hand.
--If anyone has anything to say about any of these ideas then drop a message. If anyone wants to help with either 1 or 3 then post your ideas and we can get going with this.
Peace,
Freddie
