This is a plea to the Administrators:

The 911 Forum is becoming tediously slow in operating. Sometimes it takes so long to publish an article that it times out. I go away, make a coffee & return & it's still in process!

Then I keep getting requests to put in my username and password despite the fact that I constantly tick the Remember my Name box.

Everything indicates that this host is marketing an inferior product which simply ends up pissing off a lot of would-be readers who run out of patience.

Can anything be done about it, like migrate to a better system?

Hear, hear. If this site is not under attack the host is c*rap.

Half our visitors must just clear off out of boredom. I thought twice about making this post simply because of the time I know the process is about to waste.

OK, here goes....clunk....submit.....creak.....

Maybe it just needs the purge option running on the database, though I wouldn't be surprised if there are periodic DoS attacks going on.

there is a new version of phpBB
but i am not sure if we cant just simply upgrade to the new version and retain all the archives and settings.
This current site is well optimised for search engine spiders so it would be foolhardy to switch without retaining all the archives and current settings.
