Two iconic figures of Englishness go to rally the troops. Maybe not a false flag op to irk the English rather perhaps more of a bit of good old propaganda to keep us convinced our boys are making it safer for us to walk our streets (well maybe not Bristol). What better person to send, did he go of his own volition or sent by others, Pshyco engenders the British (English) bulldog fighting spirit. Reads like he had a script writer

Stuart Pearce takes the FA Cup to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan
By Mirror.co.uk 9/01/2011

The magic of the FA Cup extended as far as Afghanistan today as former England captain Stuart Pearce made a surprise visit to troops.

Pearce, the England under-21 head coach, brought the famous old trophy with him as he visited troops ahead of today's FA Cup fourth-round draw.

He was visiting Camp Bastion, the main operating base in Helmand province. Pearce, nicknamed "Psycho" in his playing days, told British Forces Broadcasting Services News (BFBS): "People bump into me and say, 'you represented your country'.

"But this is representing your country, being out here, putting yourself on the line for the greater good of others safe at home. That's humbling for me."

From another report

The trip was designed by the Football Association to be a goodwill gesture to kick-off 2011.

Perhaps following a suggestion from the ptb

Being a bit of a footy fan myself this is no accident linking up the nation's favourite sport (distraction some would argue) with building support for our illegal military interventions.

At Wembley in November at last England friendly troops spent about 10 minutes unfurling, parading around and then folding up again 2 giant English and French flags complete with stirring music

Then there is Hope for Heroes and tickets for heroes announcements along with obligatory standing ovations for our brave boys.

Then there is strong evidence linking the EDL to 'football holigan groups' especially those linked to England. Need less to say the FA condemn the EDL but there is no denying the connections between the EDL and the racist elements that have always connected themselves to the England team.

Wonder if it would be possible to organise a counter propaganda op against this sort of thing and still get media coverage.

Perhaps Stop the War singing "Troops are coming home theyre coming home theyre coming home"

Comedian Mark Thomas would be up for something

The EDL link is an interesting one as an ex soldier in the states said racism was the biggest weapon the US military had.
