Witchfinder General

Why are you taking video of the 'day' as evidence of anything whatsoever?

There were countless people there who say they witnessed it - how is this explained away?

I can only guess in despair at the interpretation you and the gang over at "researchers" are putting on it WG.

The far more likely interpretation is that as it occurs during a zoom out sequence, the video codec - being optimised for speed and efficiency - has determined that the fireball doesn't change enough compared to the amount of new background information being introduced as the camera zooms out.

Does Killtown (or any of you) know how video codecs (compression -decompression programs) work?
Might be an area some of your more fluent readers will want to look into.

Watch the fireball from 01:47 - 01:38 and it expands and grows exactly as you'd expect, there is no 'freezing'.

I believe what he's getting at is the 1.33-1.25 section (incidentally, why is the timecoding reversed??) where the fireball appears static relative to the moving background, although the pattern of debris below it certainly does change.

It's the relative to that leads me to think it's the codec at work.

Or are the Motion Picture Experts Group in on the whole thing as well?
The rabbit hole goes ever deeper...
